Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, July 31st 2014

Bloody good show at the Sony Centre in Toronto. Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds never disappoint!

Toronto Blue Jays vs Los Angeles Angels

The Jays lose 5-3 against the Angels in a mostly uneventful game except for the bottom of the 9th when the Jays made a final push. Unfortunately it would prove to be too little, too late.

The obligatory selfie pic.

Toronto Marlies vs Abbotsford Heat

The Marlies win 3-2 against Abbotsford!

I took my nephew (of course)

Toronto Rock vs Rochester Knighthawks

I guess the Rock must always let in 17 against the Knighthawks! After scoring 5 goals on 5 shots, the Rock would go on to lose 17-12. Tough one!

Great goal!

The lovely Toronto Rock cheerleaders.

Tough loss.

Bonus: Here's a video of a guy getting kicked out of the game.

There's a YouTube video of a guy doing a whole mission in Call of Duty: Black Ops without shooting one single shot that was made as a statement that games are simple and dumb now and that you can't die in the game because it wants to keep you going and that consoles are to blame, Half-Life 2, Old School Gamer, blah blah blah. These PC elitists complain about Call of Duty, about how it's ruining gaming or whatever, I don't get it. The fact is that CoD is aimed at kids and dads who's wives only lets them play games for 30 minutes twice a week and maybe don't want to restart a level 42 times or spend 152 hours crafting potions. It's not aimed at hardcore gamers, and I don't think it ever pretended to be. It's going to be more popular because it's being dumb down to the lowest denominator therefore will sell more. It's making the gaming industry a lot of money, which in turn is helping fund the other games we all enjoy, because there are a lot of hardcore games out there to enjoy. Just stop the hate, who cares if CoD exists. It seems dumber to still play it and hate on it instead of just picking another game to play and enjoy.

Bill Burr, March 8th 2014

Bill Burr has quickly become one of my favourite comedians of all time, right up there with Louis CK. It was an absolutely hilarious show, and any time Burr is in town it's an automatic purchase.

Opening act Paul Virzi was super funny too, a perfect start to a memorable night.

Toronto Rock vs Rochester Knighthawks

After a quick start and a great first quarter from our Captain Colin Doyle, the Rock get pummelled and lose 17-9.

Go Rock Go!

Cheerleaders! :)

Ouch...

Wayne Brady response on Twitter. Tickets have been purchased; well played Mr. Brady.

Darren Frost, January 25th 2014

Hilarious comedian Darren Frost performed at Yuk Yuk's in Mississauga. Absolutely brutally awesome show. Super funny guy, a must see.

The opening acts were actually really funny too, especially Jon Steinberg who was so funny in his deadpan tone but which I felt the crowd just didn't understand. Overall a great evening.

Toronto Marlies vs Hamilton Bulldogs

Boxing Day Classic between the Marlies and the Bulldogs at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto. Big win by the Bulldogs in OT, 2-1 in a game that started out pretty slow but got more exciting as it went on.

Toronto Marlies vs St. John's IceCaps

My nephew and I watched as the Marlies win 3-2 against the St. John's IceCaps at the Ricoh Coliseum in Toronto.

Gerry Dee, November 2nd 2013

I saw Gerry Dee last June at Yuk Yuk's, but my girlfriend and I just had to go see him again, this time in Mississauga. One of the funniest comedy shows I've seen, more than half of the evening was spent with Gerry making fun of people in the crowd. Just a funny evening all around, and a must-see every time he's in town.

Graham Chittenden was great as the host.

Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson, October 18th 2013

Excellent theatrical show at Massey Hall by Jethro Tull's Ian Anderson. I wasn't sure what to expect coming in but it was an amazing show both musically and visually, with a narrative being done as Ian Anderson and his crew played Thick as a Brick 1 and 2.

Doug Stanhope, August 22nd 2013

Doug Stanhope

I wish more people were like Doug Stanhope. Watching him perform at the Opera House was amazing even if it is a weird venue for comedy since it was standing only. His views on life are just so raw and to the point. His views on charities especially were spot on. I'll definitely be seeing him again the next time he's in Canada.
